( Series ) : Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus

( Personality ) :
Percy Jackson is a hero. As the demigod son of Poseidon, god of the sea, he has quite a few powers that make him very good at battling monsters and leading quests. He can control water, breathe and remain dry while underwater, and even create hurricanes. He can also speak with many sea creatures, as well as horses (which were created by Poseidon from sea foam) telepathically. He is also extremely brave and a natural leader. Even the gods have commented on Percy's bravery, and once offered him immortality in exchange for his service to Olympus. You would think that with such great power, Percy would have a big head, but he manages to remain humble, and chooses a mortal life and asks the gods to pay more attention to their demigod children instead.

This ability to remain humble is probably partly because he was branded as a troublemaker in school from a very young age. Before high school, he never managed to last longer than a year in any school, both because of his poor performance in his classes (he suffers from ADHD and dyslexia, which are common among demigods) and because he always managed to cause some kind of accident, like blowing up a bus or dumping his entire class into the shark pool at Sea World. This, along with his "brooding" look, also inherited from his father, have branded him a rebel. Rather than becoming a bully, with all this power and the tendency to make trouble, Percy is driven to protect those who are weaker than him. In sixth grade he befriended Grover (a satyr who was disguised as a human), who is bullied, and stands up for him. He's always looking for the good in people, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Percy is an extremely loyal friend. He is even told by Athena that his personal loyalty is his fatal flaw. He would give up the world to protect someone he cared about, and as a powerful demigod, sometimes he is faced with decisions between the two. This tendency to look for the good in people and protect them has gotten him into trouble in the past. He felt a strong affinity for Ethan Nakamura, son of Nemesis, goddess of revenge, as they are both demigods who feel as though their godly parent has ignored them. He spares Ethan's life several times, even though Ethan proves time and again that he is on the other side of their battle. Ethan does come through in the end, perhaps inspired by Percy's fierce bravery, loyalty, and empathy.

He makes friends quickly but can make an enemy even quicker, particularly if you're immortal. He tends to be quite sarcastic, which can get him in trouble. He doesn't have a whole lot of a filter, and will usually say exactly what pops into his mind in a heated moment. With his ADHD, it could be anything. He also tends not to plan ahead when it comes to strategy, preferring to charge in and figure things out as he goes along. Annabeth serves as the voice of reason for him, and her tendency to come up with multiple backup plans makes her extremely valuable to him. Not only that, but since the two have been through so much together, they've fallen for one another.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths: Percy has many demigod powers, most associated with water including hydrokinesis. He can control any form of water, and manipulate it expertly, from causing explosions, to grabbing things. He can use water to travel quickly by manipulating currents. He can create water out of things that were once in water like seashells and form nearly solid walls from water. It takes an incredible amount of energy, but he can even summon water from nothing. He can breathe underwater and can even remain dry in deep water. Water also gives him added strength, agility, speed, the ability to heal quickly and endurance. His connection with the sea also allows him to manipulate ships by sheer will. He is also always aware of his exact coordinates on the planet while at sea. On occasion he has even been able to create a hurricane and an earthquake powerful enough to cause a volcano to erupt. Other skills: above average combat skills, particularly with his sword, Riptide; above average strength; the ability to speak with most equine and aquatic creatures, and he has many prophetic dreams

Weaknesses: Percy is impulsive and has no filter, which can get him into trouble. His ADHD is actually a strength in battle, as it allows him to be more aware of his surroundings, but in everyday life it causes him some grief. In the same vein, his Dyslexia allows him to read Ancient Greek quite easily, but in his everyday life it makes reading difficult. He is embarrassed often by his inability to interpret the written word quickly and efficiently. His fatal flaw is his personal loyalty. He sees his ability to be empathetic and loyal to his friends through everything as a strength, but it can get him in trouble when he's forced to make decisions between a friend and something on a larger scale that he's meant to do.

( Other Important Facts ) :
Percy has a magical, Celestial Bronze sword called Riptide. When sheathed, Riptide looks like a normal ball-point pen, but when Percy uncaps it it becomes a three foot long sword, which he is very good with. If he loses the sword, after a short period of time it wil reappear in his pocket, no matter where he is.

( Sample ) :
In which Annabeth forces Percy to play chess. (18+ warning, things get a bit frisky, but there's enough before that to get an idea of character. Please feel free to stop reading once we devolve into sexytimes)
